• The broad goal of the teaching of undergraduate students in Physiology aims at providing the student comprehensive knowledge of the normal functions of the organ systems of the body to facilitate an understanding of the physiological basis of health and disease.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course the students will be able to:
A) KNOWLEDGE:
• Describe the normal functions of all organ systems and how they
work together to ensure coordinated body functions.
• Evaluate the role of each organ system in maintaining the
internal environment of the body.br>
• Explain the physiological processes involved in normal growth
and development.
• Outline the body’s physiological responses and adaptations to
environmental challenges.
• Identify the physiological concepts that form the basis of
disease development and its treatment.
B) SKILLS:
At the end of the course the student shall be able to:
• Perform experiments aimed at studying physiological processes.
• Analyse and interpret experimental or investigative data.
• Differentiate between normal and abnormal results from tests
conducted and observed in the laboratory.
C) INTEGRATION::
• At the end of the integrated teaching the student shall acquire an
integrated knowledge of organ structure and function and its regulatory mechanisms
Department of Physiology.
