Lt Gen Madhuri Kanitkar (Retd) PVSM, AVSM, VSM
Lt Gen Madhuri Kanitkar assumed the prestigious appointment of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik on 1st November 2021 after 39 years of service in the Army Medical Corps.
She is a medical graduate from AFMC, Pune and completed her MD (Paediatrics) from INHS Asvini. She was the topper in Pune University in all three phases of MBBS.
She is a Paediatric Nephrologist who completed her training at AIIMS New Delhi, followed by fellowships at NUH Singapore and GOS London. She also completed the FAIMER Fellowship in Medical Education.
She has served as Professor & Head of Paediatrics at AFMC and later as Dean of her Alma Mater. She has over 25 years of teaching experience and was honored as Best Teacher of MUHS in 2008.
She has been instrumental in student welfare and initiated multiple projects under her leadership at MUHS, many of which are documented in the Vision Document on the university’s website.
She is a member of the Prime Minister’s Science, Technology, and Innovation Advisory Council.
